Non-stop racing instruction aboard four high performance Colgate 26 keelboats, mornings and afternoons, with shore seminars, parties, regattas and, yes, some time to relax and explore this sailors’ paradise, and Marriott Autograph Collection property. Event will be hosted by America’s Cup and Olympic racer, Steve Colgate – inducted into the National Sailing Hall of Fame in October 2015. Top winning racers who will coach crews in this special clinic include: Bobby Brooks - Offshore Sailing School Director of Operations; Mumm Worlds Champion, National Champion in the Melges24, Santa20, Capri30, and Holder20 classes. Rob also is the 2015 Mackinac Cup overall winner. Rod Favela – a multi-year coach in North U/Offshore Sailing School Performance Race Weeks covers the spectrum from racing Sunfish and dinghies to Vipers, J24s, Melges 32s and Farr 39s, on small lakes to open oceans as helmsman, tactician and trimmer. Tom Babel – has over 40 years combined professional sailing, coaching and sail making experience. As a sought after technician and coach he has led numerous teams to top finishes in the Chicago-Mackinaw Race including 2016 1st place on a J111, Port Huron-Mac, Annapolis to Newport, and Miami to Jamaica races. His one design and round the buoy racing accomplishments are too long to list and include S2 7.9, runner up Melges 24 North Americans, 5th place World Champion in J24s, 1st in Key Race Week, and first 12 times in various NOOD events. Brian Van Leeuwen – Offshore Sailing School’s Caribbean Manager is a multi-time coach for North U/Offshore Sailing School Performance Race Weeks. He started racing dinghies at age 11, and teaches all level of instruction from Basic Keelboat to Performance Sailing and Racing, to Coastal Passage Making. Brian lives in Tortola, BVI.
