NeilPryde Sailing Elite Vest

I've been sailing competitively for a long time and have used a variety of life jackets as we called them. They varied in size and comfort and flotation. But my latest purchase of the Neil Pyrde Elite is easily the best one I've owned. First of all is it super light weight and comfortable. It does not restrict movements at all and because it's so flat it is much easier to pull oneself back into the boat after a capsize, which I don't do too often but when I do, it makes a big difference not having all that bulk up front. And finally, the buoyancy. Being so small and light etc you might think it won't keep you afloat. Not so, it does so with ease and without riding up around the neck. Even in the water you hardly know its on.

Bought this to replace my old one of the same make. Didn't need to as the old one was still going strong. Just wanted a fresh look. I use it specifically for windsurfing. The loop at the bottom goes under your harness hook and keeps the vest in the right place, especially in those moments where you find yourself bobbing in the water. Just a sleek buoyancy aid, not a coast guard approved life vest. The chest pocket is very useful as well.
