Manufacturer part #: WOTTAC

Wot-tac is a boat shaped device. It has a compass mounted on the bow, and a centrally mounted dial etched with 360° markings. Please note that the dial has anti-clockwise markings - this is deliberate. The wot-tac can be used by dinghies and keelboats.

Wot-tac will predict:

  • start line bias,
  • wind angles over the side of a boat (where bearings between the marks are known)
  • Olympic and Trapezoidal courses and
  • whether a gybe or bear away set is preferred on a windward/leeward course after a wind shift.

Wot-tac will take away the guesswork from knowing where the wind will be - saving you precious minutes. Before you start it is best to read these instructions carefully.

    Interesting product

This is an interesting product, They invite one to "review" the product as soon as it arrives; so far, that is all I can say. It did arrive on time, & well packaged, but sa to how well it functions? Only time, and a bit of use , can provide the answers to that; Eh Mates ???

    No Problem

I received the Wot-Tac just a couple of days after I placed the order.
Looks like it will be a very useful aid to planning a good start and better than my average race. Can't wait to use it.

    Great Product, Great Company

The Wot-Tac isn't available in many places in the states, so I was pleased to find it at at Vela. This product is a helpful tool to newer and less experienced sailors. Vela Sailing Supply shipped the product immediately and offered friendly service. Vela is a new and great asset to sailors in the south and beyond!

We have been looking for a Wot-Tac like analog product for some time to help our racing decisions. Similar angle, bearing finders used to be quite common, this one adds several features we can't wait to try. Much thanks!
